When Jesus was about releasing his disciples, he gave them power to change the world. He said “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” - Mat 10:16.
We were meant to affect our world positively and not the world affecting us. You are meant to affect the economy and not the economy affecting you. You are meant to subdue the world via Christ being in you and not the world subduing you.
Remember Christ said “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” - Mat 5:14.
I remember an illustration given when a ministry sent a brother to pastor a remote part of the town so as to proclaim the gospel to the people of the town as that was what the ministry is all about. He was always sharp and dress gorgeously.
After about 2 months of his assignment, he was no longer dressing as he used to, he now dress like the people of the remote part of the town, talk like them and even walk like them.
Then Resident pastor at that time said “Bro Richard, hope all is well” and he was like 'yea Sir' bringing out a candy bar from his pocket and everybody in the car with the Resident Pastor just couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
See, “we are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men” - Mat 5:13.
Affect your world positively and not your world affecting you negatively.
