Bible Study On Obedience

Obedience in Hebrew “Shama” means to listen, obey or to hear. Anytime we talk about the scriptures, you will always be told to obey every of its content to be successful. God told Joshua in Joshua 1:8 that “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” There are lots of blessings God promised us in the bible that can only be accessible via obedience
Therefore, what is Obedience and how to fully access my blessings via obedience

What is Obedience
Plainly, The act of obeying; dutiful or submissive behavior with respect to another person (in this context, God)

Most importantly, you need to know that most of the blessings in scriptures might not be accessible except through Obedience. See the examples I’ve outlined below.

Exo 19:5 – “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine”
Deu 11:13 – “And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul…” What follow is blessings upon blessings.

Obedience secures Gods blessings while disobedience guarantees curses
I Sam. 15:22b – “Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

Deut 28:45 – “Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee.”

God forbid right? I know but this is just what the bible says will befall anybody that lives in disobedience to the precepts of the bible.
